Phase Coherent System - 3D Imaging, Expansive Depth/Width/Disappearing Speakers with purpose designed 6SN7/71A preamp with built in 24dB subwoofer crossover. Amps and dac with music server. FOR SALE

I've owned the Lipinski L-505 speakers with matching subs for must be 15 years now.

A newer version of them is still available, and this model is used in recording and mastering studios throughout the world. Highly sought after, and snapped up when they come on the market.

They were also very highly regarded in the audio world , a number of magazines gave them high ratings and awards. They weren't cheap, costing over $10,000 around 2000.

You'll notice the tweeter arrangement is phase compensated physically,  with the tweeter set back from the front baffle and the foam "steps" acting as a wave guide , and to help with diffraction.
The result of this is excellent phase performance, the best explanation of phase performance is that the better it is, the better the speaker disappears.  Imaging becomes very precise and sound-staging is wide and 3 dimensional.

They are also very accurate, which explains their use in recording studios, but not in an analytical way, they are still very involving and very pleasant to listen to.
They really do disappear, leaving the music just as "live" as you could hope to hear.

Phase coherence is something the Supratek tube preamplifiers are famous for, they bring a "big" open sound , something they have been engineered for.

Quite a few years ago I built a special preamp for the Lipinski's.
It uses 6SN7 input driver tube and 71A DHT (directly heated triode) output tube. Transformer coupled output, and with direct coupling (no capacitor) between the 6SN7 and 71A.  This is to increase the phase performance of the preamp.

It works very well, and enhances the overall performance of the system .
Also included in the preamp is a 24dB subwoofer crossover for the dual Lipinski 15" subwoofers under each speaker. Of course it is tube based, using 4 x 7N7 tubes.

The crossover frequency is 70Hz,  the Lipinskis speakers have good bass , so the subs are only required for low bass use.
They are non-boomy, and articulate, yet have good depth and power.

The preamp is quite old and quite ugly now, but circuit wise it's as good as new , and it is still a very good up to date design with the fabulous DHT sound. The 71A DHT tube is one of my favorite tubes. Seperate over-engineered power supply.

I've partnered the preamp with a Parasound 4 channel high current amp , 2 channels for the speakers and two channels for the subs.

There are level controls on preamp and amp to adjust balance of speaker/subs.

The Parasound is an excellent DC coupled amp, which again helps with the phase response of system.

The complete system sounds as you'd expect- world class audio components that combine to make a very synergistic , and capable sound.  Extremely musical, foot-tapping , and hard to turn off!

In order to complete the package I'm including a quality Geek Pulse PCM/DSD dac, with optional power supply , and a simple mini-pc based music server with hard drive- everything you need to get going.

Free lifetime service on the preamp, but not on other components. However they are all well engineered, quality components and will last forever.

$6500 negotiable. Email me to arrange a listen- supra AT supratek.com.au

Moving! High quality , collectable audio gear to go.

I'm moving workshop , and reluctantly have to downsize my collection of audio components.
It is all high quality classic gear, I value good sounding gear that is timeless in quality and sound.
All of these components will give very enjoyable sound for years to come.
The systems below I'd prefer to sell locally, but will consider freight at buyers expense. Happy to ship individual components. If you are genuinely interested, will send photos , more details. but please no time wasters or dreamers, life's too short!!

Kanton speaker/Radford STA25 tube amp/ Dali 10" sub/ DSpeaker Anti-Mode 8033S digital bass sub-bass room correction.

Another nice system I use in a smallish room, lovely tone , relaxing musical system that is very toe tapping and another great sound-stager.
The Radford is a true classic tube amp, ample power with the lovely tone of EL34's. Excellent output transformers and very sought after. The DSpeaker digital bass "black box" gives deep , correct bass without boom. Just needs a preamp, or source with level control.
$2500

2 x Trimax EL34 tube amps. Trimax made some wonderful gear back in the golden age of tube audio.  30 watts, solid design ,great output trans, these have been re-conditioned, restored and have switching for the input trans, which have sadly been disconnected on most restored Trimaxs.
I'm going to put the actual price that I think these are worth, as I dont really want to sell them (my first tube amps were Trimax about 40 years ago!)
$3000.

NOFEN computer music server. I had this made when high resolution computers were starting to make inroads as genuine music sources. Its about 3-4 years old, but as far as I can tell it's still not far off as good as you can get with computer audio . Has a very powerful no fan motherboard, SOTM usb board, very good power supply , all the fruit.  It was built by a tech head who was told to build a no holds computer for audio.
Has Server 2012/ Audiophile Optimiser/ JRiver installed. Very fast, quick turn on/off.
Still sounds very good to my ears. Server 2012 is trial version and turns off after1 hour , needs to be paid for or Windows10 installed over it.
$750.

STAX Electrostatic Headphones . Amazing sound, if you've never heard a pair of Stax headphones you've missed out on one of audio's experiences.
Connects to amplifier output, needs a nice amp, but boy do they deliver. Starting to be a forgotten classic, which is a real shame.
$500

Nakamichi 480Z Cassete Deck.  Old school . $200.
